JANICE F. MULLIGAN is admitted to practice
law before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit and all California
State and Federal Courts.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Ms. Mulligan
obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego in 1978.
Following a year of study in Oxford, England, Ms. Mulligan returned to San
Diego, California where she has since resided.
From 1980-1981, Ms. Mulligan had the privilege of
serving as a judicial intern for HON.J. CLIFFORD WALLACE, then Presiding Judge
of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Other clerking experience gained
while still in law school included working for the Office of the Attorney
General, State of California, Licensing Division, where Ms. Mulligan worked
exclusively on the revocation of health care professionals' licenses.
In 1981, Ms. Mulligan graduated with honors from the
University of San Diego School of Law where she distinguished herself on the
National Team and the Moot Court Board. Upon graduation, Ms. Mulligan became a
distinguished member of the Order of the Coif.
After gaining experience working for other law firms in San Diego, in 1986,
which has continued uninterrupted through to the present, Ms. Mulligan founded
her own law firm.
In addition to maintaining her private law practice, for over the last ten
years Ms. Mulligan also serves as both a court appointed arbitrator and a party
arbitrator. Ms. Mulligan frequently teaches courses in medical malpractice,
legal malpractice and trends in personal injury law.
Ms. Mulligan is currently the chair of the American Bar Association's Special Committee on Medical
Professional Liability, a member of The American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the ABA Long Range Planning Committee, a Delegate to the American Bar
Association House of Delegates, member of ABA/TIPS Council, past Co-Chair of the American Bar
Association's Medicine and Law Committee, and past Chair of the Lawyers Club of San Diego's Judicial
Endorsements Committee. She is a Sustaining member and frequent speaker for the American Trial Lawyers
Association, a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.
Ms. Mulligan is also a member of the San Diego county Bar Association leadership recruitment committee (2005-Present)
Ms. Mulligan is on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Inn of Court. Ms. Mulligan has served as a Barrister for the Inn
of Court, San Diego Chapter, Louis B. Welsh Inn. In the past, Ms. Mulligan
has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego County Bar
Association (1988-1990), the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (1987-1991),
Lawyers Club (1986-1989) and the Executive Committee of the State Bar of
California, Litigation Section (1995-1998).
ELIZABETH A. BANHAM is a graduate of Drexel
University in Philadelphia. Ms. Banham received her juris doctor degree from the
University of San Diego School of Law in 1986. Ms. Banham also received a
certificate in Comparative International Law from Temple University for study
she completed in Rome, Italy.
Ms. Banham was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and California in 1987 and Massachusetts in 1989.
Ms. Banham now practices solely in California.
She was formerly with the County of San Diego, and was a manager and prosecutor of environmental code violations with the County's Department of Environmental Health.
Since 1995, Ms. Banham has served as a Municipal Court
Judge Pro Tempore for Small Claims Court. She formerly taught classes on
employment law to other attorneys and to private employer/employee groups. Now
specializing in medical malpractice and elder abuse claims, Ms. Banham has
authored a number of articles on these topics.
Ms. Banham is an active member of the San Diego County
Bar Association, Lawyers Club, and The Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.
STEPHEN
A. WALLACE,M.D.,J.D., Stephen A.
Wallace, M.D., J.D., is involved in the review and determination of litigation
strategy for medical malpractice, pharmaceutical litigation and medical product
liability cases.
Dr. Wallace grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and
graduated first in his class from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School
of Pharmacy in 1975. While in pharmacy school he received the Bristol Award for
outstanding achievement in pharmacology for his research involving neuromuscular
blocking agents. He also received the Merck Award for outstanding achievement in
pharmaceutical chemistry.
He received his medical degree from the University of
Missouri graduating with honors in 1980. He is currently certified by the
American Board of Medical Specialists in anesthesiology and pain management. His
pain management fellowship occurred at Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard
Medical School. He has been listed in “The Best Doctors in America” from
1996 to the present.
He received his law degree from the University of San
Diego in 2000. He is licensed to practice both medicine and law in Arizona. He
presently practices medicine in Arizona.
